Speak Up for Kids CASA 5K And 1K
Thanks for joining KidzAustin.com at the Domain for this wonderful family friendly fun run/walk that we were so pleased to sponsor. On Sunday, September 7 at 8 AM, the whole family (including the family dog -- OK to bring dogs on leashes on the course) can get out and get a little exercise together and at the same time benefit a wonderful cause -- CASA. CASA provides a voice for abused and neglected children in Travis County by pairing a trained, committed and caring volunteer advocate with a child desperately in need of someone who has their best interests at heart. Last year, CASA served 1,248 children with the support of 400 volunteers. At the Speak UP for Kids CASA 5K and Kids 1K, we hope to raise enough money to continue advocating for the needs of our current caseload of 1,348 children and 800 other children that are currently waiting to be assigned a dedicated volunteer advocate.
Thanks to everyone that came out for this fun-filled community event on October 4. We had a blast! Congratulations to all of our prize winners and thanks to our sponsors and vendors for making it a great day of fun for the whole family. And amidst all the fun, we were able to collect some much needed donations for local charities.
Also a big thanks to Three Ring Service for donating the inflatable bouncy house for all the kids to enjoy.
The Kidz Fall Fun Fest will be the be an annual event so put us on your mental calendar for next year and the year after that and the year after that. See photos and details.
BOB FM's Third Annual HOWL-O-Ween Contest & Kids Fun Corner This event was howling fun for the entire family including the family pet. Held at Central Market on Lamar, it featured a costume contest for both the kids and man's best friend. As a partner for the event, KidzAustin.com provided lots of kids' entertainment including a Monster truck bounce house, face painting, balloon twisting and the bean bag toss. Thanks to all of you that stopped by and took advantage of the kid's corner. We'd like to compliment BOB FM for putting together some great family entertainment and Central Market for just a great place to host a family friendly event.
