Camp Fire USA Balcones Council Celebrates 100 Years

Family friendly Spring event info: The Balcones Council of Camp Fire USA, which serves families in 10 central Texas counties, is commemorating 100 years of Camp Fire by planting 100 trees in Central Texas! With support from TreeFolks, City of Austin and Keep Austin Beautiful, the event will be filled with a variety of activities for youth and includes special appearances by Smokey the Bear and Woodsy owl.  Tree planting begins at 9:00 a.m.Refreshments will be provided. The event is community-wide open to everyone currently involved in Camp Fire, our esteemed alumni across Central Texas and the interested public.

We walk to increase awareness of food allergy and the effect it has on a community. We walk to provide understanding, hope, and an opportunity for a child with food allergy to simply be a child. Parent friendly event info: A FREE 60 minute lecture - The Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior has designed a special class for expectant and new parents and others who want to better understand their pet's view of young family members.  Become educated on
socialization, sharing, value systems, and rewards as a way to reshape and reestablish your pack with baby as the newest member.  The lecture covers information including how a dog views a child from infancy through the teen years, why behaviors may arise, how to prepare your dog for the new
arrival, how to introduce baby to your dog, and more. The talk is free, but space is limited - to register call (512) 371-3647.
