KidzAustin Getz Involved in Community Eventz
KidzAustin.com is proud to announce that we'll be taking part in some local community eventz over the next few months. We hope you'll mark them on your calendar. We start out with the Speak Up for Kids CASA 5K and 1K on September 7. A fun run/walk, it promises to be an event for the whole family. As a sponsor, KidzAustin will provide entertainment via a bounce house as well as a prize for the kids (while supplies last) after the run. We've also signed on with BOB FM to sponsor their upcoming HOWL-O-Ween Fest in October which features a costume contest for both kids AND the family pet. Click here for more details on both events.
Back to Schoolz
In honor of this momentous time of year, we've added a Schoolz page featuring links
to your local school districts as well as links and/or locations of
private or charter schools. We've also added a link (when available)
to the school supplies list and bus routes to help you in your planning for the coming
year. Finally, we're kicking off a new "Psychology of Parenting Seriez" which features a regular column written by local mom and licensed psychologist, Kavita Murthy, PhD. The first contribution to the series covers the "Back to School Jitters." Be sure to check it out.

FUN
FINDZ
We've spotlighted a few new additions to the site that we think are
particularly fun:
Jungle Java -- What a great concept -- parents sipping coffee while the kids scamper from slides to ziplines and basketball courts and more. Located in Round Rock, this one is a great indoor option as well as good for parties.
Comedy Improv at the Hideout -- A group of local parents came up with a way to share this fun concept with kids. The latest performance includes a fun twist on fairy tales. Check it out on Sundays.
SAD ENDINGZ
Luby's Ends Kids Eat Free
KidzAustin was informed that Luby's last day offering Kids Eat Free was July 14. The program used to offer Kids Eat Free hours on both Wednesdays and Saturdays. Although kids eat free is no longer an option, Luby's does now offer a $2 Kids Night on Wednesdays only which we have posted on our Dealz page (The KidzAustin clan made the switch to Texas Land and Cattle last Saturday instead).
Live From the Plaza
While not entirely over for the year, the program is on hiatus until September 26.
Zilker Summer Series -- Beauty and the Beast
The last showing of this free and entertaining live performance is August 9.
