We'll now be celebrating everything kid at the Arbor Walk at 10515 N Mopac Expressway. Activities include inflatable fun, face painting, arts and craft vendors, prize giveaways and more. Please bring canned food and/or new or gently used clothing items. -- the more you donate the better your chances to win! Click here for more details.

Speak Up For Kids at CASA's 5K and Kids 1K
It's not too late sign up to run or walk for a great cause. Join KidzAustin.com at CASA's Speak Up for Kids 5K and 1K. The event starts and ends at The Domain. Come by the KidzAustin booth afterwards where the kids can jump in the bouncy house AND enjoy a little gift on us.

New Inspirationz or Lessonz to Learn?
With the kids starting the new school year, they may also be inspired to try new things -- maybe a lesson in ballet or martial arts or a little instruction in horse riding or music or even decide to sign up for a league like flag football, cheerleading or soccer. If that's the case, we'd like to help with that search. Check out Lessonz or KidzSportz to see what's out there.

Before you make that final decision though, you may want to review our latest installment of the "Psychology of Parenting Seriez" by local mom and licensed psychologist, Kavita Murthy, PhD. This month's topic is "How Much is Too Much? Extra-Curricular Activities for your Child." Be sure to give it a read.

Helping You Find Hauntz, Harvestz and Happeningz
With Labor Day past us, we realized it was time to revive our HauntzNHarvestz and Happeningz page. Right now, it may seem like the pool of family friendly events has dried up with the passing of Summer. This new page offers insight into what's coming for Fall including Fall festivals, harvest events and other family friendly Fall happeningz. This page is a work in progress, so if your school or organization is hosting one of these fun Fall events, please e-mail us with all the details so we can get the word out to the local community!

Questionz? Commentz?
As always, please feel free to e-mail us with your questions or comments at info@kidzaustin.com. Also, we'd love to hear what you think about the KidzAustin website. Please feel free to take our survey so we can serve you better.

FUN FINDZ

We've spotlighted a few new additions to the site that we think are particularly fun:

Free Crafts For Kids at Lakeshore Learning Store -- Every Saturday kids 3 and up can try their hands at a different craft project each week. It's free!

Olympic Hills Gymnastics Open Gym Play -- Open gym play every Monday from 10 - 11:30 AM for kids 5 and under.

Austin Java -- Austin Java now offers Kids Eat Free on Tuesdays! Don't miss this tasy opportunity with the kids that is available at all locations in Austin.

Manny Hattan's -- We only recently discovered the tasty Deli off of 183 offers Kids Eat Free on Mondays!

Justice "Just for Girls" -- Not just a retail clothing store for the girls, Justice also offers fashion designer, Webkinz or rock star birthday parties for girls. Who knew? You'll find locations in Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Georgetown.

The Hatching at the Dinoland Exhibit -- A fun and educational event at Zilker Botanical Gardens celebrates the arrival of the dinosaurs (and the Dinoland exhibit) with dino craft and special activities for the kids.

SAD ENDINGZ

Free Summer Movies Come to an End. The good news is that Alamo South still offers its Saturday Morning Kids Club on the last Saturday of every month.

GOOD THINGZ RETURN

Live From the Plaza
This downtown family friendly performance will return on September 26 complete with live music and a locally made lunch option every Friday.

If you get the chance to check out any of these kid-friendly placez, please be sure to tell them you saw them on KidzAustin.com!
